How to Play
How to Play:
- Click or tap any tile next to the empty space to slide it in
- Rearrange all tiles into numerical order, left-to-right, top-to-bottom
- The empty space should end up in the bottom-right corner
- Use the Shuffle button to start a new game at any time

- Arrow Keys: move the blank space (desktop)
- Swipe: slide tiles on mobile

Rating:
- 3 Stars: solve at or under par moves
- 2 Stars: solve within 1.75x par

How do you play Sliding Puzzle?

Are all Sliding Puzzle shuffles solvable?
Yes. Every shuffle is mathematically guaranteed to be solvable. The game uses a Fisher-Yates shuffle followed by an inversion-parity check to ensure every configuration has a solution.
What grid sizes are available?
Three sizes: 3x3 (8 tiles, beginner), 4x4 (15 tiles, classic), and 5x5 (24 tiles, expert). The 5x5 is extremely challenging â most random positions require 100+ moves to solve.
